Arriving Soon at Cole Krum Chevrolet: The 2013 Malibu

There are a lot of reasons to love the 2012 Chevy Malibu, including its sleek interior, EPA-estimated 33 mpg highway, and enough technological enhancements to keep you and your family happy on a long road trip or just a trek to the store. Or, as Chevy says, the Malibu is "up to its headlamps in features and style."1 As it turns out though, there's room for a few more things for 2013.

And why wouldn't they add more models to the lineup? The Chevy Malibu has garnered over 40 awards throughout its history, and Cole Krum Chevrolet thinks that the addition of an Eco model as well as a turbocharged variant can only further enhance this award winning sedan. The automaker is keeping their lips pretty tightly sealed about these variants, but we do have a few pertinent details to share with you about what you can expect next year.

The first 2013 Malibu to roll into dealerships will be the eAssist Eco hybrid variant. It's slated to arrive early in 2012, and will deliver 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque at 25 mpg city/37 mpg highway. At its debut in December, Chevy also announced that we can expect a turbocharged Malibu in addition to the 190-hp, 2.5-liter model that will arrive later in the year.

That's really all they said, unfortunately. Some reliable auto news resources are saying that it will be a version of the turbocharged 4-cylinder power plant that will also be under the hood of GM's luxury Cadillac ATS next year. Others are saying it will be the 2.0-liter, 220-hp engine found in the Buick Regal CXL. Even so, some are expecting that the turbocharged Malibu is likely to have a power output hovering around the 270-hp range.

That said, there are still a few 2012 Chevy Malibu models chock-full of technology, safety and performance options here at Cole Krum Chevrolet located at 342 W Prairie St Vicksburg, MI 49097. But if you think you can wait, give us a call at (269) 475-4585 this spring to schedule a test drive in the first 2013 Malibu to hit the streets.
