Chevrolet Confirms All-New Colorado is Headed to the United States

Recently launched in Thailand, the all-new Chevrolet Colorado has been well-received by critics and drivers alike. And this is probably why Chevrolet recently announced that the next-gen variant of this Chevy favorite will also be coming to the United States.

Release timing as well as manufacturing location, and engine availability, will be announced later this year as the production for the current-gen Chevy Colorado winds down in Shreveport, LA. But, as far as the new Colorado is concerned, according to Chris Perry, VP, Global Marketing & Strategy, Chevrolet thinks "the design, capability and fuel efficiency of the new Colorado will make it attractive to U.S. customers."1

The Chevy Colorado pickup we've become familiar with over the last seven years received quite the overhaul from the automaker. Most noticeable and well received when the pickup launched in Thailand were its advanced capabilities and efficiencies. Of course, trucking needs in Thailand are different than in the United States, which is why Chevrolet engineers spent an extended amount of time in Thailand prior to the Colorado launch. Brad Merkel, Global Vehicle Line Executive says that, "a similar development process will precede the launch of the truck in the U.S. market...we think American customers will be pleased with the results."2

Stayed tuned. Cole Krum Chevrolet, located at 343 W. Prairie St. Vicksburg, MI 49097 promises to keep you up to date on the latest details released by Chevrolet (i.e.,engine variants, efficiency ratings and pricing). In the meantime, feel free to take a look at the 2012 Chevy Truck lineup, and contact us with any questions.
